History

The founder of Berwick Dental Arts is a hometown boy, John E. DeFinnis.  John graduated from Berwick High School in 1960; he received a BA and DDS from Temple University in 1964 and 1968 respectively. He served two years in the U.S. Army Dental Corps and returned to Berwick to open a general dentistry practice in October of 1970.

After six years of practicing solo, Dr. DeFinnis started to orient his practice towards a group. Dr. Bryan Carlin joined the group in 1984.  We then added Dr. Susan Ermish as a partner, joining Berwick Dental Arts in November 2001, and Dr. Nathaniel Flook as a partner in January of 2007.  All four of these doctors are Temple University graduates.

Starting as one dentist and one employee, Berwick Dental Arts has grown to 35 employees and 4 dentists. In 1984 Berwick Dental Arts spearheaded the construction of a professional office complex with a state of the art dental facility. As a group, we pride ourselves in staying current with modern dentistry and have always encouraged and supported our staff to be well trained and courteous. Although a large group practice is a bit unusual in a small rural town, we enjoy the comfort level of our patients knowing that they have the same dentists each visit and coverage is available to them six days a week .  The community of "Greater Berwick” and Berwick Dental Arts has truly become families with dentistry.
